* One of 144 acts from over 550 applications selected for the British Comedian of the Year 2020** I was delighted to be one of the 144 comics selected out of 550 to take part in the prestigious British Comedian of the Year 2020. It's a contest that attracts some of the best names on the circuit so I'm proud to have been selected. Unfortunately, the virus stopped the contest in its tracks, so I hope to be able to try again in 2021. Overview A very versatile act. I'm a conversational gag merchant. I have been a semi - pro stand up for 10 years or so, closing, opening, and middling my way around the country with a mix of beautifully written gags and truish stories, together with some audience banter. I'm also a very experienced MC, able to compere both 'nice' rooms and rowdy weekend clubs. I've recently become the resident MC at Stamford Arts Centre Along the way I have learned life lessons such as - 'never take a first date to watch you perform comedy' and 'there are no 24 hour petrol stations in rural Wales.' I have become increasingly grumpy and my comedy focuses on (amongst other things) politeness, getting old and the joys of long term relationships. Away from stand up. I recently rowed across the Atlantic, becoming a world record holder in the process, and live on a farm in rural Leicestershire. 20s for: Agraman, Hilarity Bites, Guy Thomas, Who Dares Grins, Flock Comedy, Ship of Fools, NABD Biker Rallies, Mirth Control and dozens of others.
